Charanga Sing – Vocal CPD & Training

This CPD event is available free of charge to all schools signed up to any Hub Subscription Package or £75 otherwise.

Extensive research has shown the undeniably positive impact singing has on emotional, physical and mental wellbeing.

In this session we will look at how Charanga Sing, with its ever growing bank of over 500 songs for all ages, groupings and styles, can encourage more singing in your school every day and not just for those special performances. The course will also look at vocal health by taking care of the voice with fantastic body and vocal warm-ups and exercises.

GYSMA Festival of Carols

The Great Yarmouth Schools’ Music Association biggest event of the year, the ’69th Festival of Carols’ takes place over two nights, Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th December 2019, providing opportunities for the pupils of Great Yarmouth to experience playing, singing and performing live music together.

Great Yarmouth Schools’ Music Association will be celebrating their spring term of music making with a concert of solo vocal & instrumental performances on Tuesday 26th March 2019. Tickets are £5 / £3 for under 16s.

Great Yarmouth Music-Making Sessions

Are you aged 12-16 and interested in playing in bands, songwriting and meeting other young musicians?

From 4- 5.30pm on Mondays each fortnight, Norfolk Music Hub is holding music-making sessions for young people, free of charge.

These sessions will provide the opportunity to jam together, learn how to use digital recording equipment and develop your own songwriting skills in a fun and relaxed environment.

There will also be guidance on how to showcase your work on Songwriter (an online community for young songwriters) and you could also win a performance slot at Latitude Festival or FolkEast!

All instruments and vocalists are welcome. If you have your own instrument bring it along but don’t worry if you don’t as plenty will be provided.

These sessions will take place at St George’s Theatre in Great Yarmouth on Monday 29 April, 13 May, 3 June, 17 June, 1 July & 15 July 2019.

Charanga Training – Beginner

Charanga Musical School is an award winning, modern resource for primary music which includes a complete scheme that meets all the requirements of the national curriculum. Musical School is perfect for all teachers however confident they feel with teaching music. This Introduction session will focus mainly on getting the most from the scheme as well as a brief overview of the vast library of supporting resources.

East Norfolk Sixth Form College Concert

East Norfolk Sixth Form music department presents a selection of jazz, funk and classical music performed by both soloists, duets and ensembles (jazz trio, choir and funk band).

This event is open to the public and tickets are £3, available on the door.

Great Yarmouth Arts Festival Gala Concert

Norwich Young Voices will join forces with The Orchestrate! Project and Dusmagrik Young People’s Theatre Company for a Gala Concert within the Great Yarmouth Arts Festival.

Carols & Coffee

Norwich Young Voices will be joining The Orchestrate! Project in their performance at Cliff Park Community Church’s annual Carol Service event at Gorleston Pavilion Theatre.

This is a free and informal service with coffee and mince pies.
